The Society for Misfit Puppets was founded in 2016 as a joint artistic venture between performer, playwright, singer-songwriter/composer, puppeteer Charlotte Moroz, director Leigh Walter, and production manager and dramaturg Dan Kelly. As a collaborative trio, they’ve created new work exploring the fusion of puppetry, theater and music within stories and world mythologies that are important to this moment in history and the future, drawing in symbolism and story motifs from the past. Since its inception, the Society has produced concerts of their original work, readings, a dinner theater variety show, monthly experimental musical theatre pieces and multiple fully produced workshops. They have employed the work of more than 35 artists and performed at various venues across New York City, Brooklyn, and New Hampshire, including but not limited to Dixon Place, Judson Memorial Church, Standard ToyKraft, Arlene's Grocery, The Aidron Duckworth Museum, Otto's Shrunken Head, and St. Lydia's Church.
